When I begin conceptualizing a painting, I will often mix a generous amount of the required colours to ensure consistency throughout the piece without needing to recreate the colours.
 

This process usually results in excess paint, so, rather than letting it dry out and go to waste, I use the remaining colours to create additional pieces; experimenting with different styles and compositions.

         

Many of my paintings have emerged from this creative process. However, other sets were intentionally planned, either as commissioned projects or simply inspired by a particular mood or artistic direction I was exploring at the time.
