Gabrielle's paintings:
Hi, I'm Gabrielle, I have been painting for a little over six years now, and I’ve only just realised how much I would love for others to see and enjoy my work.
I focus primarily on abstract art, although I have created several figurative artworks as gifts or commissions for my friends and family.
Exploring abstract art has deepened my understanding of colours, shapes, and the overall flow and emotions in paintings. This year, I’ve decided to set aside a couple of hours each week to keep growing, experimenting, and developing my style.
I hope you enjoy my art.
Thank you,
Gabrielle
How it started:
I was twenty-one at the time and was working on this really large jigsaw puzzle, I had already spent dozens of hours trying to complete it. I struggled to keep my jigsaw pieces in neat and tidy piles when carrying around the jigsaw, which made making the jigsaw a nightmare. That’s when I came up with the idea to create my own tray to hold my pieces, a jigsaw-piece-shaped tray!
It was as DIY as could be. It was created using just a piece of plywood for the base and polystyrene for the edges. Obviously, I did a dreadful job and it was looking rather unpleasant and messy. Cue in my absolute genius: I decided to paint this tray to make it pretty again!
I painted from a photograph that I took of the sunset by the sea in Brittany. From this day on, painting has become a massive part of who I am and has helped me stay focused and dedicated on my quest of happiness.
